SunExpress Plane Engine Failure! Flames Erupted from the Left Engine

The SunExpress Airlines flight operating the Van-Antalya route had to make an emergency landing at Van Ferit Melen Airport due to an engine failure after takeoff. The flight was canceled, and the aircraft was withdrawn from service.

The SunExpress Airlines plane, operating flight XQ7917 from Van to Antalya, encountered engine trouble shortly after takeoff. On Sunday, the plane, with tail registration TC-SUU, a Boeing B737, took off from Van Ferit Melen Airport and shortly after, flames erupted from its left engine.

The incident concluded safely when the plane made a secure landing at Ferit Melen Airport after circling over Lake Van for a while. Thanks to the calm and professional attitude of the pilots and cabin crew, the safety of the passengers on board was ensured.

According to information from airline officials, all necessary safety procedures were meticulously followed after it was understood that the plane had an engine failure. The circling over Lake Van was done to reduce fuel to enable a safe landing.

Post-landing inspections revealed that it was not safe for the plane to continue flying. Consequently, the aircraft was withdrawn from service, and the planned flight from Van to Antalya was canceled.
