Wage Protest at Qantas: Employees Walk Out During CEO’s Speech
At Australia’s national airline, Qantas, technical maintenance workers demanding a wage increase staged a protest by walking out during CEO Vanessa Hudson’s speech. Hudson had organized a meeting in the hangar to listen to employees’ concerns, but as she began speaking, the workers unexpectedly vacated their seats.
This surprising reaction was captured on cell phones and quickly went viral on social media.
In an open display of displeasure, Qantas Base maintenance workers walked out of a hangar meet hosted by the CEO Vanessa Hudson in Brisbane, also aimed to send a message to the management.
