Turkish Airlines signed simulator agreements with HAVELSAN and CAE at Farnborough and took an important step in training and sustainability by joining the SAFFA Fund.
Turkish Airlines signed three important agreements at the Farnborough International Airshow as part of its pilot training infrastructure and sustainable aviation goals. The company, which reached agreements with HAVELSAN and CAE for the supply of simulators, also joined the SAFFA Fund, which supports sustainable aviation fuels.
Turkish Airlines signs three agreements at Farnborough
Turkish Airlines signed three separate agreements with HAVELSAN, CAE and the SAFFA Fund at the Farnborough International Airshow to meet the growing demand for pilots, strengthen its training infrastructure and support the aviation industry’s carbon reduction targets.
Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee Murat Şeker, who attended the meetings in Farnborough with his team, stated that the signed agreements are important for the company’s growth, training and sustainability goals.
Pilot training infrastructure to be strengthened
Turkish Airlines signed two separate contracts with HAVELSAN and Canadian Aviation Electronics (CAE) to improve its training capacity in response to the increasing need for pilots alongside its growing fleet.
8 full-flight simulators from HAVELSAN
The contract signed between Turkish Airlines and national technology company HAVELSAN covers the supply of 8 full-flight simulators and 4 flight training devices.
Murat Şeker stated that HAVELSAN is one of Turkish Airlines’ most important partners in the field of simulators and said that the agreement would make a significant contribution to the training infrastructure.
Agreement with CAE for 7 simulators
Turkish Airlines also reached an agreement with Canadian Aviation Electronics for a total of 7 full-flight simulators, 2 of which are optional, and 2 flight training devices.
The orders, covering different narrow- and wide-body aircraft types, aim to increase Turkish Airlines’ pilot training capacity and service quality.
In his assessment of the agreements, Şeker made the following statements:
“We have taken important steps to further strengthen our training infrastructure in order to meet our growing need for pilots alongside our expanding fleet. With these orders covering different narrow- and wide-body aircraft types, we will further improve our training infrastructure and service quality.”
Turkish Airlines joins the SAFFA Fund
The third agreement signed by Turkish Airlines at Farnborough covered its participation in the SAFFA Fund, which was established to increase the production capacity of sustainable aviation fuels.
The fund aims to contribute to increasing sustainable aviation fuel production and achieving the global aviation industry’s carbon emission reduction targets.
Şeker stated that Turkish Airlines would continue to develop its investments in the transformation of global aviation in line with its long-term growth strategy, sustainability goals and supply chain security.
Emphasis on 2033 targets
Stating that Turkish Airlines would continue its cooperation with domestic and international stakeholders, Murat Şeker concluded his statement with the following words:
“We will continue working toward our 2033 targets and contributing to our Partnership, our country and our industry together with our domestic and international stakeholders.”
