Explora Journeys has officially taken delivery of EXPLORA III, marking another milestone in the luxury cruise line’s fleet expansion and bringing the brand to three ships in service.
Delivered by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri in Genoa, the vessel introduces several new features while maintaining the spacious, all-suite experience that has become a hallmark of the Explora Journeys brand.

EXPLORA III represents the next step in our journey as we continue to redefine ocean travel through thoughtful innovation, exceptional design and the intuitive hospitality that sits at the heart of the Explora Journeys experience.”
New Dining and Accommodation Concepts
Building on its sister ships, EXPLORA III debuts three new culinary concepts: The Cellar, The Chef’s Table and Shore Club on 11.
The ship also features an additional Owner’s Residence, expanded Ocean Penthouses and Ocean Residences, enhanced wellness facilities that combine spa and fitness offerings, and Chopard’s first boutique at sea.
As the first LNG-capable ship in the fleet, EXPLORA III also advances the brand’s sustainability strategy with the ability to operate on renewable LNG alternatives as they become more widely available. The vessel is equipped with shore power connectivity, allowing it to reduce emissions while docked at ports with the appropriate infrastructure.
Inaugural Season Begins in August
Following a special 5-night Mediterranean preview voyage, EXPLORA III will be officially named in Barcelona on Aug. 1, 2026, before embarking on its 7-night maiden voyage to Lisbon on Aug. 3.
The ship’s inaugural deployment includes itineraries throughout Northern Europe, Iceland, Greenland, Canada and New England. In 2027, EXPLORA III will launch Explora Journeys’ first Alaska season.
The delivery of EXPLORA III marks the halfway point in Explora Journeys’ planned six-ship fleet. Three additional vessels—EXPLORA IV, V and VI—are scheduled to enter service between 2027 and 2028, including the brand’s debut in Asia.
