Eurofighter Training Schedule Announced: First Team in the UK in August

Eurofighter personnel to travel to the UK in August 2026

The Ministry of National Defence announced that Turkish flight and maintenance personnel will be sent to the United Kingdom for training in August 2026 as part of the Eurofighter Typhoon procurement process. According to information shared at the weekly press briefing, flight training is planned to begin shortly after the flight personnel arrive in the country.

The Ministry stated that personnel deployments to the United Kingdom will continue in the following years in accordance with the signed contract.

Flight training to begin shortly

In its statement, the Ministry of National Defence provided the following information regarding the training schedule of the Eurofighter procurement programme:

“As part of the Eurofighter procurement, it is planned to send flight personnel to the United Kingdom in August 2026 and begin flight training shortly thereafter.”

According to the statement, flight personnel are expected to begin training in the first phase, while maintenance personnel are also planned to be sent to the United Kingdom as part of the procurement programme.

Personnel deployments to continue over several years

The Ministry of National Defence stated that the training activities would not be limited to the first team. It was announced that flight and maintenance personnel would continue to be sent to the United Kingdom under a multi-year programme within the scope of the signed contract.

The Ministry’s statement included the following remarks:

“Within the scope of the signed contract, flight and maintenance personnel will continue to be sent to the United Kingdom over the coming years.”

Investigation into Veli Bilgin’s death continues

At its weekly press briefing, the Ministry of National Defence also addressed the ongoing process regarding the death of Air Force Academy student Veli Bilgin.
