Venezuelan Army Shoots Down Two Unidentified Aircraft Entering its Airspace

The Bolivarian National Armed Forces of Venezuela (FANB) announced that two enemy aircraft, which violated Venezuelan aviation regulations by clandestinely entering national territory without identification codes, at low altitude and with transponders off, were shot down in the Pedro Camejo municipality of Apure state.

FANB officials stated in their remarks:

“The mentioned aircraft entered national territory at different times and through different routes to deceive and mask their movements and intentions. Therefore, when the illegal entry of the moving vectors was detected by the radar of the integrated aviation system, FANB’s war resources were deployed, and both aircraft attempting to descend near the geodesic line were neutralized.”

Furthermore, it was emphasized that the mentioned aircraft would likely be used by transnational organized crime groups for illegal activities related to drug trafficking and arms smuggling due to their probable characteristics.
