AJet Expands Fleet with Domestic “Miligram” Seats

AJet has started using 100% domestically produced “Miligram” seats in its new Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft. Developed by Turkish engineers, these seats provide comfort for passengers while offering economic and environmental benefits for the airline.

100% Domestic Seats on AJet’s New Boeing 737-8 MAX Aircraft

Turkey’s youngest airline, AJet, is expanding its fleet while making a strong move toward domestic production. The two new Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft added to the fleet in early August are equipped with “Miligram” seats, entirely developed by Turkish engineers.

Designed and manufactured by Turkish Airlines subsidiary TCI Aircraft Interiors, the seats hold EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) certification. With their slim and lightweight structure, “Miligram” seats offer passengers more legroom while also contributing to fuel savings and reduced carbon emissions.

A Signature of Turkish Engineering

The seats installed on AJet’s Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft registered as TC-OHA and TC-OHB are considered an important step toward reducing dependency on foreign suppliers in the aviation sector.

Burak Ünal, Industrial Design Manager at TCI Aircraft Interiors, stated: “Thanks to the slim design and carbon fiber backrest of our Miligram seat, we provide passengers with a journey that is both comfortable and safer. Our seats have successfully passed numerous certification processes, including flammability, static, and dynamic tests. In addition, the use of recycled materials offers an environmentally friendly solution.”

Comfort for Passengers, Added Value for the Airline

The next-generation domestic seats, notable for their ergonomic design, offer:

  • 23° recline angle

  • 45 cm seat width

  • 76 cm seat pitch

  • Lightweight, fire-resistant synthetic leather covers

  • Phone holders and personal storage spaces

These features provide a comfortable flight experience for passengers. The lightweight design also helps AJet reduce operational costs while supporting its eco-friendly flight vision.

On All New Aircraft by the End of 2025

AJet plans to add nearly 10 Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft to its fleet by the end of 2025. All new aircraft joining the fleet will be equipped with 100% domestically produced “Miligram” seats. With modern Boeing aircraft paired with seats designed by Turkish engineers, AJet embodies Turkey’s vision for domestic production in aviation.
