Alp Er Tunga Ersoy Joins New Airport Project
Turkish aviation executive Alp Er Tunga Ersoy announced that he has joined the Gia Binh Airport project to be implemented in Vietnam. In his statement, Ersoy noted that he will be part of a critical journey starting from the design phase of the project, extending through ORAT (Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer), testing and commissioning processes, up to the opening of the airport.
The project, with an investment value of approximately 7.5 billion dollars, is targeted to reach an annual passenger capacity of 30 million by 2030. Such a greenfield airport project of this scale carries the potential to establish a significant hub in regional aviation.

In his remarks regarding the project, Ersoy stated that this role represents an important milestone in his career, and emphasized that working together with Yusuf Akcayoglu, one of the prominent figures in airport construction, holds particular value for him.
Ersoy, who will take an active role from the earliest design phase of the project to the stage of full operational readiness, stated that he aims to reflect his knowledge and experience onto the field throughout this process.
Global Experience: A Career Extending from Central Asia to the Gulf
Alp Er Tunga Ersoy’s career spans a wide geography in the field of international airport management.
Most recently serving as General Manager of Kuwait International Airport Terminal 5 under Jazeera Airways, Ersoy undertook end-to-end management of high-density terminal operations. In this role, he led areas such as safety-critical operations, regulatory compliance, passenger experience, and coordination with public authorities.
In 2024, Ersoy served as General Manager at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, managing a broad scope of responsibilities ranging from terminal operations to security, from financial management to commercial activities.
ORAT and Operational Transformation Experience Stands Out
One of the prominent aspects of Ersoy’s career is his experience in ORAT processes. During his tenure as General Manager at Almaty International Airport, he managed a comprehensive operational transformation covering terminal operations, fuel services, cargo, and technical processes.
Previously, Ersoy held senior positions within TAV Airports in Georgia and Macedonia operations, where he took an active role in the planning of airport investments, feasibility processes, budgeting, and the development of strategic partnerships.
