Turkish Airlines Tehran Crisis: Office Reopened After Headscarf Controversy

Turkish Airlines’ (THY) office in Tehran, Iran’s capital, was temporarily closed due to some female employees not adhering to the headscarf rule. According to reports in the Iranian press, the office was sealed on Monday but reopened two days later.

Iran’s Interior Minister Ahmed Vahidi commented on the matter, stating, “I was not aware of this incident, I saw it reported in the media. It has been reported that the incident occurred due to a dispute among the office employees, and the seal was removed.”

Office Resumed Operations

Following the incidents, THY’s Tehran office has returned to normal operations. The issue has also highlighted the sensitivities in Turkish-Iranian relations.
