Turkish Airlines (THY) is offering an exciting opportunity for young individuals looking to start a career in aviation. Under the 2024 Take-Off Cadet Program, THY will train new graduates or soon-to-be graduates as second pilots. Candidates will undergo an intensive two-year training program, after which they will be employed by THY.

Training Duration and Content
Accepted candidates will receive theoretical and practical lessons for approximately 15-18 months and will be trained as second pilot candidates. This process will be completed with an additional 3-6 months of training at flight training academies, both domestic and international, that are partners with THY.
Application Dates
Applications for the program began on June 13, 2024, on THY’s website. The deadline for applications is set for September 9, 2024, at 15:00.
Application Requirements
Candidates who wish to apply must meet the following requirements:
- Citizenship: Must be a Turkish citizen or hold a blue card.
- Education: Must have at least a bachelor’s degree (either from regular or open education).
- Candidates who graduated from foreign universities must provide a YÖK equivalency certificate at the interview stage.
- Applications from candidates who completed their bachelor’s degree more than 5 years ago will not be accepted (this period is extended to 6 years for candidates who attended a foreign language preparatory class).
- Date of Birth: Must be born before December 31, 2003, and after January 1, 1994.
- Physical Conditions: Height must be between 160 cm and 195 cm, and body mass index must be between 20-30.
- Military Service: Must have completed military service or be able to defer it for at least 2 years from the start date of the training.
- Criminal Record: Must have no criminal record or criminal archive record.
- Discipline: Must not have been dismissed from any organization due to disciplinary reasons.
- THY History: Must not have been dismissed from THY AO or any of its subsidiary companies due to disciplinary or termination reasons.
- Language: Blue cardholders or candidates with multiple citizenships must speak Turkish fluently and clearly.
- Pilot Training: Must not have previously participated in any pilot training program (PPL, CPL, ATPL, etc.).
