Turkish Technic Inc. and GE Aerospace signed a five-year agreement covering maintenance, repair and overhaul services for Data Link Control and Display Units. Through the collaboration, OEM-approved DCDU services will be provided to domestic and global airline customers in Istanbul.
Turkish Technic and GE Aerospace Sign Agreement
GE Aerospace and Turkish Technic Inc. signed a five-year Service and License Agreement covering authorized maintenance, repair and overhaul services for Data Link Control and Display Units (DCDUs) in Farnborough, England, on July 21, 2026. Under the agreement, Turkish Technic Inc. will provide GE Aerospace-approved DCDU services to domestic and global airline customers from its facilities in Istanbul.
The collaboration aims to expand Turkish Technic Inc.’s electronics maintenance capabilities and strengthen regional access to aircraft operators’ maintenance processes.
GE Aerospace Will Provide Technical Equipment and OEM Parts
Under the agreement, GE Aerospace will provide Turkish Technic Inc. with specialized test equipment, original equipment manufacturer parts and structured technical support.
The collaboration will also include the licensing of technical data and technical expertise belonging to GE Aerospace. This will ensure that authorized DCDU maintenance, repair and overhaul operations carried out by Turkish Technic Inc. are performed in accordance with GE Aerospace standards.
Using this infrastructure, Turkish Technic Inc. will provide maintenance services for cockpit data link communication equipment from its centers in Istanbul.
Aircraft Maintenance Times Are Expected to Be Reduced
Turkish Technic Inc. Deputy General Manager of Engineering and Planning Yasin Birinci stated that the agreement is important for the company’s electronics service capacity.
Birinci made the following remarks in his assessment:
“This agreement is an important step toward expanding our electronics service capacity. Thanks to this agreement signed with GE Aerospace, we are pleased to offer our customers more comprehensive aircraft maintenance services. Our collaboration will primarily increase service availability, helping airline operators reduce aircraft downtime and optimize fleet performance.”

GE Aerospace President and General Manager of Electrical Power Systems Kris Shepherd said the agreement expands the long-standing partnership between the two companies.

What Do DCDU Systems Do?
The Data Link Control and Display Unit is among the aircraft equipment that supports data link communication between the cockpit and ground systems.
DCDU systems help flight crews display and manage digital messages as part of modern aircraft communication infrastructure.
By enabling Turkish Technic Inc. to have GE Aerospace-authorized DCDU maintenance capacity, the aim is to increase global repair capacity, shorten operators’ maintenance times and support long-term service availability.
Global Airlines Will Be Served from Istanbul
The agreement covers access to specialized test equipment, OEM parts, technical data and technical support. Through this infrastructure, Turkish Technic Inc. plans to offer its electronics maintenance and repair capabilities to global airline customers from its facilities in Istanbul.
The collaboration is expected to strengthen Türkiye’s position as a regional hub for advanced aviation services, increase access to OEM-approved services and support maintenance turnaround times.
GE Aerospace Has 500 Employees in Türkiye
GE Aerospace continues its operations in Türkiye through its offices and facilities in Istanbul, Ankara and Gebze.
According to the company’s statement, it has approximately 500 employees in Türkiye and supports an installed fleet of more than 3,100 engines used in commercial and defence applications across the country.
Engineers at the Türkiye Technology Center also contribute to GE Aerospace’s global engineering activities, including new engine programs, software development and additive manufacturing.
