Accident on Antalya Flight! Aeroflot Plane Collides with Pushback Vehicle in Kazan, Passengers Evacuated

An Aeroflot Boeing 737-800 aircraft scheduled for a flight to Antalya was damaged and the flight was canceled following an incident during ground services at Kazan International Airport.

During a routine pushback procedure at Kazan International Airport, it was discovered that the tow pin necessary for pulling the plane’s front wheels was missing. Due to this deficiency, the aircraft could not be properly connected to the pushback vehicle, and it lost control during the pushback operation.

As the pilots began the pushback process, the absence of the pin caused the aircraft’s wheels to fail to turn properly. This led to the pushback vehicle coming to a sudden stop, causing the plane to slide towards it. Consequently, a collision occurred between the aircraft and the pushback vehicle, resulting in damage to both.

Following the incident, airport authorities and Aeroflot determined that the 118 passengers needed to be evacuated from the plane. The passengers were returned to the terminal building and informed that the flight was canceled.
