Airbus Introduces Innovations for A330neo Airspace Cabin
Airbus has unveiled new features for the Airspace cabin of the A330neo, aimed at enhancing its value and passenger appeal. These innovations were showcased at the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) and include a new Welcome Panel and Light, along with updated sidewall panels, ceilings, and door frames.
The new Airspace Welcome Panel improves ceiling lighting to create a more spacious ambiance from Door-2 to Door-1. This panel will become a standard feature on all new A330neos from the first quarter of 2026 and can be customized by airlines.
In 2027, the A330neo will offer the Airspace Hero Light as a premium option, featuring 16 million colors and a unique pattern customization. This provides airlines with a significant differentiation opportunity.
The updates to the sidewalls, ceiling panels, and door frames contribute to weight savings of up to 100 kg. These changes enhance passenger comfort while positively impacting aircraft performance.
The new finishing elements provide a lighter and smoother appearance, reducing the number of parts for easier assembly and replacement. Additionally, the inclusion of electro-dimmable windows in the A330neo allows passengers to better control the cabin ambiance.
