The Farnborough International Airshow, one of the most prestigious events in the aviation industry, is in full swing. CTech, a subsidiary of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), has introduced a significant innovation at this prestigious event: a domestically developed black box solution.
Domestic Black Box: A New Era in Safety and Durability
CTech’s black box stands out as a device resilient to accidents, capable of recording cockpit audio and mission data. Designed to ensure data security even under harsh external conditions, the device is resistant to impacts, high temperatures, and underwater pressure. Additionally, the integrated underwater locator beacon allows for the rapid and accurate detection of the aircraft’s position if it crashes into water.
Flight data can be transferred to a computer and analyzed post-flight via the device’s Ethernet interface and CTech’s specialized software tool. The convection cooling feature allows the device to maintain performance without the need for a fan or climate-controlled environment, making it adaptable to both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft.
CTech notes that this innovation will soon be available for use, not only meeting the needs of air platforms in Turkey but also contributing to international technology exports.
Horizon and Beyond Products: Leading in Communication Technologies
At the fair, CTech is also showcasing its horizon and beyond line of communication products. General Manager Cüneyd Fırat highlighted the introduction of proven products like UfukLink-Mini, SCOFUS, SkyARX, HeliARX, and SecureARX in both Turkey and globally.
- UfukLink-Mini: This MESH-supported horizon communication solution ensures secure and uninterrupted communication between points outside the line of sight. It can be used on moving platforms such as mini UAVs, helicopters, airplanes, and ships.
- SCOFUS: As a Tactical Integrated Communication and BVLOS solution, it makes all communication sources like RF-LOS and LTE/5G functional as a single broadband channel. This technology ensures uninterrupted communication by actively using all communication channels.
- SecureARX: Anti-jamming satellite communication modems provide secure communication for military and government applications. They can handle satellite communication scenarios for fixed and mobile land, sea, and air vehicles.
- SkyARX Terminal: With high-precision satellite tracking capability and over 200,000 flight hours of experience, it provides two-way data communication between air platforms. Available in 12-inch and 18-inch versions, it offers data speeds up to 20 Mbps.
- HeliARX: This solution provides uninterrupted communication thanks to a special waveform developed to counteract the signal-blocking effect of helicopter blades. The modem consists of a compact SOTM antenna and a ground control unit, enabling instant transmission of voice, video, image, radar, and sensor data packets worldwide.
CTech’s innovations are poised to play a significant role in both the local and international aviation and defense industries.
