Turkish Airlines (THY) has stated that claims circulating on social media and some online news websites alleging that flights to certain cities in Iraq have been indefinitely suspended do not reflect the truth.
In a written statement, THY emphasised that posts claiming, in particular, that Erbil flights had been indefinitely suspended were misleading to the public.
“Operational Adjustment Made, Flights Continue”
The statement noted that during periods when Iranian airspace was closed, schedule changes were made to Baghdad services due to operational requirements; however, flights were not completely suspended.

The statement from THY included the following remarks:
“During periods when Iranian airspace is closed, our Baghdad services have been shifted to daytime hours in line with operational requirements, and flights continue to be operated. Our Erbil, Sulaymaniyah and Basra services continue to be operated in accordance with the schedule.”
Normal Operations on Iraqi Routes
The company reminded that flight operations to all destinations in Iraq are continuing as planned and advised passengers to follow only official channels and THY announcements.
