Ron Magill to Join Atlas Ocean Voyages’ 2027 Antarctica Expedition

Atlas Ocean Voyages is adding a celebrity wildlife expert to one of its 2027 Antarctica sailings. Conservationist, photographer and television personality Ron Magill is joining guests aboard World Traveller for a 16-night Antarctica and Falkland Islands expedition departing March 13, 2027.

Magill will enhance the expedition through wildlife presentations, photography workshops, informal discussions and select Zodiac excursions and shore landings, giving travelers firsthand insight into the region’s unique ecosystems and wildlife.

Known for his more than four decades of work in wildlife conservation and education, Magill serves as Goodwill Ambassador for the Zoo Miami Foundation and is a Nikon USA Ambassador. He has earned six Emmy Awards for his wildlife television work and has documented species across Africa, Asia, the Americas and the polar regions.

“Some of the most meaningful conservation lessons come from experiencing wildlife where it naturally thrives,” said Magill, in a press statement. “Antarctica and the Falkland Islands remain among the world’s last truly wild places, and sharing those moments with fellow explorers aboard an intimate expedition yacht creates opportunities for education, inspiration and memories that last a lifetime. I’m honored to partner with Atlas Ocean Voyages for this extraordinary journey.”

An Immersive Polar Expedition

Roundtrip from Ushuaia, Argentina, the itinerary crosses the Drake Passage before exploring Antarctica’s glaciers, icebergs and wildlife-rich waters. Guests can expect daily Zodiac safaris and guided shore landings led by Atlas Ocean Voyages’ Expedition Team, with opportunities to see penguins, whales and seals in their natural habitat.

The voyage also includes calls in the Falkland Islands, where travelers can encounter five penguin species alongside abundant birdlife and dramatic coastal landscapes.

With fewer than 200 guests aboard World Traveller, the expedition offers an intimate setting for travelers to interact with Magill throughout the journey, whether during onboard presentations, wildlife photography sessions or excursions ashore.
