SunExpress Aircraft Lands, Summer Officially Begins in Bodrum

Milas-Bodrum Airport welcomed the first international flight of the season from Frankfurt with a ceremony. A total of 41 airlines and 76 destinations are targeted for the 2026 summer season.

First Flight of the Season Welcomed with Ceremony

Milas-Bodrum Airport, one of the key gateways for tourism in Muğla, marked the start of the 2026 summer season with the first international flight arriving from Frankfurt, Germany. Passengers who landed in Bodrum at 14:20 on March 27 on SunExpress flight XQ3141 were welcomed with a ceremony held at the terminal.

During the welcome program, passengers were offered cake and flowers, while the ceremony was attended by DHMİ Chief Director Kemal Daştan, Milas-Bodrum Airport General Manager İclal Kayaoğlu, as well as customs, security, and airport officials.

Frankfurt Flights to Operate Three Times a Week

As part of the summer season, reciprocal flights will be operated on the Frankfurt-Bodrum route by SunExpress. It was reported that the flights will be carried out on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

With these flights, an increase in tourism activity in Bodrum, particularly from the German market, is expected.

Target of 41 Airlines and 76 Destinations

Milas-Bodrum Airport General Manager İclal Kayaoğlu stated in her remarks regarding the first flight of the season that international operations will be expanded.

Kayaoğlu emphasized that in the 2026 season, it is planned to serve 76 different destinations with 41 airlines on international routes, highlighting that the expanding flight network will make a significant contribution to regional tourism.

It was also noted that efforts are ongoing to increase Bodrum’s international accessibility and strengthen destination promotion.

Numerous International Airlines in Bodrum

Throughout the international season, which will continue until November, Milas-Bodrum Airport will host many airlines, including AJet, Pegasus, flydubai, Jet2, SAS Scandinavian Airlines, Qatar Airways, Smartwings, Ryanair, Mavi Gök Aviation, and Freebird.

Within this scope, reciprocal flights will be operated to major European cities such as Copenhagen, Edinburgh, Manchester, Zurich, Warsaw, Vienna, and Amsterdam.

On the other hand, it was stated that Ryanair’s Dublin and London Stansted flights will continue throughout the year.

Passenger Numbers Continue to Rise

Milas-Bodrum Airport served a total of 4,412,884 passengers in 2025.

In the first two months of 2026, the number of passengers reached 203,551, marking a 9 percent increase compared to the same period last year. This increase indicates that growth is expected to continue in the new season.
