TAV Airports increased its passenger numbers by 10 percent to 6.9 million in January 2026. While international traffic grew by 12 percent, Ankara and Izmir airports stood out.
TAV Airports Holding revealed a strong start to 2026 with the January 2026 Investor Bulletin data. The total number of passengers at airports operated by TAV reached 6,929,762 in January 2026. This figure represents a 10 percent increase compared to the same month of 2025.
International Traffic Became the Locomotive of Growth
In January, the number of international passengers at TAV airports increased by 12 percent, exceeding 3.85 million. Domestic passenger traffic recorded an 8 percent growth.
Ankara and Izmir Stood Out with Their Performance
Ankara Esenboğa Airport recorded a 30 percent increase in international passenger traffic. It was noted that the new aircraft deployed by AJet in Ankara were effective in this growth.
At Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, total passenger numbers increased by 16 percent, while international passenger traffic rose by 14 percent. The capacity increase by Pegasus Airlines was among the main factors behind this performance.
Balanced Course in Antalya and Tourism Centers
Total passenger traffic at Antalya Airport increased by 5 percent, while double-digit growth was recorded in domestic lines. Milas-Bodrum and Medina airports also contributed to the positive picture with passenger increases. At Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport, a decline was experienced in domestic passenger traffic due to a decrease in the number of flights.
7 Percent Increase in Flight Numbers
The number of commercial flights at airports operated by TAV Airports increased by 7 percent in January 2026, reaching 48,496. International flights increased by 9 percent, while Ankara and Izmir airports stood out with the rise in flight numbers.
