Turkish Airlines increased its passenger numbers by 11.6 percent to 19.6 million in January 2026. The load factor reached 84.2 percent, while cargo transportation increased by 18.4 percent.
Turkish Airlines (THY) announced its traffic results for January 2026. According to the results covering the THY main brand and AJet data, THY increased its total passenger numbers by 11.6 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 19.6 million. The passenger load factor rose by 1.7 points to 84.2 percent.
During the January 2026 period, total landings increased by 8 percent to 46,742, while Available Seat Kilometers (ASK) rose by 10 percent to 23.7 billion. Revenue Passenger Kilometers (RPK) increased by 12.1 percent to 19.9 billion.
Strong Growth Abroad, Far East Stands Out
THY’s international passenger numbers increased by 9.4 percent to 23.2 million, with the strongest growth recorded on Far East routes. Far East passenger numbers rose by 18.4 percent to 6.6 million.
During the same period:
- European passenger numbers increased by 9.9 percent,
- Africa by 12.6 percent,
- Middle East by 4.4 percent.
- On domestic routes, passenger numbers increased by 5.1 percent to 1.7 million.
18.4 Percent Increase in Cargo and Mail
Turkish Airlines continued its growth in cargo and mail transportation as well. In January 2026, cargo + mail volume increased by 18.4 percent to 175,639 tons. The highest increases were recorded on Middle East, Far East, and Africa routes.
Fleet, Capacity, and Flight Network Expanded
As of January 2026, the number of aircraft in the THY fleet increased by 9.4 percent to 522, while total seat capacity rose by 9.6 percent to 107,819. The number of destinations reached 356, and total kilometers flown increased by 10.4 percent to 106.6 million kilometers.
