IGA Istanbul Airport has announced the launch of daily direct flights between Copenhagen and Istanbul in cooperation with SAS. The new route will strengthen connectivity between Türkiye and Scandinavia.
IGA’s Global Network Continues to Expand
IGA Istanbul Airport continues to expand its global flight network by increasing international airline partnerships. Serving with over 100 airlines, the airport provides connections to more than 340 destinations.
In this context, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), the flag carrier of Scandinavia, has started daily direct flights between Copenhagen and Istanbul as of March 27.
Daily Flights Between Copenhagen and Istanbul
Under the new route, reciprocal flights will be operated every day of the week. Airbus A320neo aircraft with a capacity of 180 passengers will be used on these flights.
The implementation aims to offer passengers greater flexibility and comfort.
Stronger Connectivity with Northern Europe
With this cooperation, it is aimed to meet passenger demand between Scandinavia and Türkiye and to strengthen transportation between the two regions.
The new route is also expected to have positive effects on tourism mobility and commercial relations.

Server Aydın, Deputy General Manager Responsible for Commercial Affairs at IGA Istanbul Airport, stated that the cooperation with SAS holds an important place in the airport’s growth strategy.
Aydın noted that this step supports Istanbul’s goal of becoming a global aviation hub.

Henrik Winell, Vice President of Network at Scandinavian Airlines, stated that the new route will strengthen not only the connection between the two cities but also the economic and social ties between regions.
