Le Monde, one of France’s leading newspapers, has praised Turkish Airlines (THY), describing it as a cornerstone of the Turkish economy and highlighting that civil aviation has become a crucial tool for Turkey’s development.
In its report, Le Monde referenced the founder of Turkey, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s saying, “The future is in the skies,” noting that the results achieved by THY have reached impressive dimensions. Based on April air transport reports, it stated that THY’s performance has been enviable.
Le Monde highlighted that THY has achieved significant success against IAG, the parent company of British Airways, Europe’s most profitable airline. Additionally, it noted that THY has become the leading airline in terms of the number of flights, surpassing Lufthansa, and pointed out the impressive growth in revenue and net profit margin.
The newspaper also emphasized that Istanbul Airport has become Europe’s busiest airport just five years after its opening, and despite economic challenges, Turkey has emerged as a new center of globalization.
