Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced the implementation of significant projects for the development and growth of Malatya.
Providing information about increasing the passenger capacity of Malatya Airport, Uraloğlu stated that the current capacity will be raised to 2.5 million passengers.
Between 2005 and 2009, efforts were made to raise the airport’s capacity to 1.2 million passengers.
However, in line with the increasing demand and the necessity to improve service quality, the construction of a new terminal building and complementary structures has begun.
Upon completion of the project, it was stated that the size of the domestic and international terminal building of Malatya Airport will increase to 26,765 square meters.
Thus, emphasis was placed on increasing the passenger capacity to 2.5 million passengers. Uraloğlu noted that the new terminal building and complementary facilities will enhance Malatya’s position in aviation and traffic.
