Çelebi Aviation, in addition to its main hub in Turkey, continues to operate in India, Hungary, Germany, Tanzania, and now Indonesia, providing services in over 60 stations across 3 continents and 6 countries. The company has acquired Prathita Titiannusantara (PTN), a ground handling service provider at Indonesian airports, and will begin operations in ground handling, general aviation, and other special services at 26 airports in Indonesia.
At a press conference held in Jakarta, Çelebi Aviation Holding Chairman Canan Çelebioğlu expressed her excitement about the new investment, stating, “When we decide to invest in a new country as Çelebi, we carefully evaluate its growth potential, its approach to foreign investors, and cultural alignment. We view our investments as long-term commitments, aiming to contribute to the host country’s development while aligning with its policies and goals.”
Çelebi Aviation Group CEO Dave Dorner emphasized the company’s commitment to global expansion and sustainability, highlighting that their policies of embracing technology and innovation allow them to meet evolving needs while reducing their environmental footprint.
Murali Ramachandran, President of Çelebi Aviation India & Southeast Asia, highlighted the regional significance of this expansion. Meanwhile, Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, noted that Çelebi Aviation’s investment is a strategic move crucial to Indonesia’s efforts to become a global hub in tourism, trade, and e-commerce.
Mokhammad Khusnu, Head of International Cooperation at Indonesia’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation, underscored the importance of the aviation sector in economic development. Turkey’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Talip Küçükcan, expressed his belief that “Çelebi Aviation’s experience, technology, and expertise will significantly contribute to Indonesia.”
Çelebi Aviation’s expansion into Indonesia is expected to create new opportunities for local employment and sectoral development. The Indonesian aviation market, which handles approximately 750,000 flights annually, is anticipated to grow by an average of 7% annually over the next five years.
