Historic Maneuver
The national UAV Bayraktar TB2 made history in world aviation with its autonomous barrel roll maneuver during test flights. During this maneuver, the Bayraktar TB2 followed a spiral trajectory in the sky, performing a full rotation around its own axis, showcasing its performance. These historic moments were recorded by another Bayraktar TB2 conducting test activities and the Bayraktar AKINCI TİHA returning from a munitions test in Konya.
Three Attempts, Three Successes
During the test, the Bayraktar TB2 attempted the autonomous barrel roll maneuver three times and successfully completed each attempt. This maneuver, a critical escape technique for fighter jets, had never before been successfully performed by a UAV.

800 Thousand Flight Hours
The Bayraktar TB2 UAV System has successfully completed 800 thousand flight hours, making it the first national aircraft to serve the longest time in the sky.
Entry into Inventory and Operations
Entering the Turkish Armed Forces inventory in 2014, the Bayraktar TB2 was armed in 2015 and has been operationally used by the TAF, the General Command of Gendarmerie, the General Directorate of Security, and the National Intelligence Organization. The Bayraktar TB2 has been actively involved in counter-terrorism efforts both domestically and across borders since 2014.
International Support
Bayraktar TB2 UAVs are actively used by the Ukrainian Army for defense purposes in the war between Russia and Ukraine. Public fundraising campaigns have been organized in Lithuania, Ukraine, Poland, Latvia, Norway, Spain, and Canada to purchase Bayraktar TB2s.
Domestic and National Production
Baykar develops the most significant value-added software and hardware systems for unmanned aerial vehicles nationally and uniquely. The Bayraktar TB2 UAVs are produced with a 93% domestic industry contribution.
Record Holder
The Bayraktar TB2 set the Turkish altitude record with a continuous flight time of 27 hours and 3 minutes at an altitude of 27,030 feet. Capable of operating in challenging geographical and climatic conditions, the Bayraktar TB2 has successfully participated in many international operations.
Earthquakes and Search and Rescue Missions
The Bayraktar TB2 UAVs have played a significant role in search and rescue operations during earthquakes and natural disasters. They are also effectively used in detecting and extinguishing forest fires.
International Export Success
In 2023, Baykar achieved significant success with a $370 million Bayraktar TB2 export contract. Many NATO and EU member countries have included the Bayraktar TB2 in their inventories.
The Bayraktar TB2 has been exported to 33 countries, gaining significant interest worldwide. Baykar is the export leader in Turkey’s defense and aviation sector.
