Turkish Airlines Press Office Statement: Bomb Threat Turns Out to be False

A passenger plane of Turkish Airlines (THY) on its Varşova-İstanbul route made an emergency landing after receiving a bomb threat over Romanian airspace. However, subsequent checks revealed that the threat was unfounded.

According to a statement from THY’s Press Office, flight TK-1766 diverted to Bucharest for an emergency landing after receiving a bomb threat from Bratislava FIR radar control. The plane, carrying 150 passengers, was evacuated, and a search was conducted under the supervision of relevant authorities. However, no evidence was found during the search, confirming that the threat was unfounded.

After ensuring the safety of the passengers, the aircraft took off from Bucharest to resume its planned landing in Istanbul. The statement assured the public that the plane is expected to arrive in Istanbul at the scheduled time.
