Bayraktar AKINCI UCAVs, developed by Baykar and a source of pride for the Turkish defense industry, are once again in the spotlight with their formation flight. Selçuk Bayraktar, Chairman of the Board of BAYKAR, showcased these unique moments with shared footage on the X platform.

In the video shared by Selçuk Bayraktar, two AKINCI UCAVs are seen performing a coordinated flight. These images not only demonstrate technological superiority but also reaffirm Turkey’s expertise in unmanned aerial vehicles.
Record-Breaking AKINCI UCAV
The Bayraktar AKINCI UCAV was developed indigenously and uniquely as part of a project led by the Presidency of Defense Industries. AKINCI has logged over 50,000 flight hours and, in durability, high altitude, and high-speed tests, reached an altitude of 45,118 feet (13,716 meters), breaking the national aviation altitude record.
Export Successes and New Goals
The Bayraktar AKINCI UCAV has signed export agreements with nine countries to date. Ongoing negotiations with various countries have further cemented Turkey’s success in defense industry exports. Last year’s cooperation agreement with the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Defense marked the largest single aviation export in Turkey’s history. According to this agreement, the Bayraktar AKINCI will serve in the inventory of the Saudi Arabian Air and Naval Forces Command.
