HÜRJET in Antalya for Sea Level Tests

Turkey’s first indigenous advanced jet trainer, HÜRJET, developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), is beginning flights in Antalya as part of its sea level testing program. The Governor’s Office issued an official announcement prior to the tests, which will take place between 23 February and 16 March 2026.

Governor’s Office Supersonic Flight Statement

According to the Antalya Governor’s Office, the aircraft may reach supersonic speeds at times during the test flights, resulting in loud, explosion-like noises.

Authorities emphasized that the high noise levels during the specified dates are due to planned test activities and assured citizens that there is no cause for concern.

HÜRJET Previously Tested in Erzurum

HÜRJET was previously subjected to flight tests in Erzurum under freezing winter conditions, successfully proving its system durability in temperatures as low as -21°C.

The Presidency of Defence Industries had also announced that HÜRJET will begin deliveries to the Turkish Air Force starting in 2027.
