TUSAŞ Announces New Twin-Engine Configuration for ANKA-3 Unmanned Combat Aircraft

Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) has announced the development of a twin-engine configuration for the ANKA-3 Unmanned Combat Aircraft. This new design represents a significant step towards enhancing the UAV’s performance and capabilities.

ANKA-3’s Twin-Engine Design and Supersonic Flight Capability

ANKA-3 is known as an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) currently undergoing flight tests. The new configuration will feature a twin-engine design and enable the UAV to achieve supersonic flight. This advancement will increase the UAV’s speed, maneuverability, and operational flexibility.

Statement from TUSAŞ General Manager Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil

TUSAŞ General Manager Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil provided details about the new ANKA-3 design. Kotil mentioned that the ANKA-3 would be capable of flying at supersonic speeds and would support the KAAN project. He also disclosed that the ANKA-3 would be equipped with TEI-TF10000 turbofan engines, which will provide high thrust.

Enhancement with TEI-TF10000 Turbofan Engines

In the future, the ANKA-3 is planned to be powered by TEI-TF10000 turbofan engines. These engines are designed to offer high performance and reliability, thereby enhancing the UAV’s operational capabilities.

Features and Capabilities of the ANKA-3 Unmanned Combat Aircraft

ANKA-3 is notable as the third member of TUSAŞ’s UAV family. Having completed its maiden flight, the ANKA-3 is equipped with a wide operational range, including reconnaissance, surveillance, and strike missions.

High Performance and Capacity

ANKA-3 has a maximum cruising speed of 0.7 Mach, a ceiling of 40,000 feet, and a payload capacity of 1200 kg. These features ensure that the UAV can be effectively utilized in various missions.
