Turkish Airlines continues its growth in the UK market. With the opening of the Istanbul–London Stansted route, THY has started flights to its third airport in London.
Stansted Flights Have Started
Turkish Airlines launched its reciprocal flights between Istanbul and London Stansted Airport as of March 18.
Under the new route, the airline will initially operate two round-trip flights per day. The total number of weekly flights is planned to increase up to 15 frequencies.
Launch Ceremony Held
A ribbon-cutting and cake-cutting ceremony was held at the airport to mark the opening of the new route. The event attracted significant interest from both passengers and airport officials.
“Our Strength in a Strategic Market Is Increasing”
Fuat Flat, Vice President of Sales for Central and Northern Europe at Turkish Airlines, emphasized that the United Kingdom is one of the company’s critical markets.
Flat stated that with the start of Stansted flights, they have increased their presence in London to three airports, noting that this step will offer passengers greater flexibility and global connectivity. He also said that the new route will contribute to the regional economy in terms of both business and tourism.
