Turkish Airlines (THY) is gearing up to expand its flight network in the United States. The company will strengthen its presence in the United States by adding a new route to Denver next month.
Currently operating flights to 13 different destinations in the U.S., THY will commence Denver flights on June 11th. The Denver flights, which will operate three times a week, will mark the company’s 14th destination in the U.S.
THY’s Istanbul to Denver flights are scheduled to operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Company officials noted that the frequency is planned to increase to four times a week in July 2024.
The Denver flights will be operated with Airbus A350 aircraft. With the addition of Denver flights, the weekly flight frequency to the U.S. will increase to 145.
Meanwhile, THY resumed its Miami route on October 25, 2015, which had been suspended since October 1, 2001, following the September 11 attacks. Currently operating 11 weekly flights, it was announced that the Miami route will increase to a fixed daily frequency of 2 flights, totaling 14 flights per week as of August 12.
Miami stands out as one of the important hubs for the global jet set. Additionally, Miami International Airport hosts the world’s busiest cruise port with an annual passenger count of 7.5 million.
While Turkish Airlines operates flights to 24 destinations in the Americas, the increase in capacity and passenger numbers in the first three months of 2024 in the U.S. market is also noteworthy.
