Playing an active role in cooperation initiatives carried out at various levels within the international aviation sector, Turkish Airlines (THY) continues its strong presence within the International Airlines Representation in Europe (AIRE), which represents airlines before European legislative and executive bodies and is headquartered in Brussels.
Operating through the joint efforts of its member airlines, AIRE plays an active role across Europe on critical issues in the aviation sector, particularly sustainability, operational efficiency, and passenger rights.
Within this framework, Turkish Airlines Senior Vice President for International Relations and Alliances, Dr Özlem Özyön, has been elected Vice President of AIRE. This appointment has further strengthened the representation power of Türkiye’s flag carrier airline within the European aviation ecosystem.
With more than 25 years of experience in the aviation sector, Dr Özlem Özyön will contribute to AIRE’s management and corporate development processes in her new role, while also representing the common interests of the aviation sector in engagements with European Union institutions. Özyön is also expected to play an active role in efforts to strengthen dialogue between airlines and regulatory authorities.
