According to Turkish Airlines’ February 2026 traffic data, the number of passengers increased by 9.3 percent to reach 6.5 million. Passenger load factor rose to 82.7%, while cargo transportation also recorded significant growth.
Turkish Airlines Carried 6.5 Million Passengers in February
Turkey’s flag carrier airline, Turkish Airlines (THY), announced its traffic results for February 2026. According to the data, the company’s passenger numbers increased by 9.3 percent compared to the same period last year, rising from 6 million to 6.5 million.
During the same period, the airline’s passenger load factor also increased by 0.8 points to 82.7 percent.
Fleet and Flight Network Expanded
- According to the data announced by THY, the company’s flight network and fleet continued to grow.
- Number of destinations served: Increased from 352 to 356
- Number of aircraft: Increased from 477 to 529
- Number of landings (passenger flights): Reached 40,986, up from 36,928
In February, the airline’s available seat kilometres (ASK) capacity increased by 9.4 percent to 20.3 billion.
Strong Growth in Cargo Transportation
The company’s cargo and mail transportation also showed a remarkable increase.
Cargo and mail transportation, which was 148.6 thousand tons in February 2025, increased by 15.9 percent to reach 172.2 thousand tons in February 2026.
Domestic and International Performance
On international routes, the number of passengers increased by 10.2 percent to 4.4 million, while passenger numbers on domestic routes rose by 7.6 percent to 2.1 million.
- International load factor: 82.6%
- Domestic load factor: 83.7%
On a regional basis, passenger growth was particularly strong on Far East and European routes.
14.1 Million Passengers in the First Two Months
In the January–February 2026 period, THY’s total number of passengers increased by 11 percent from 12.7 million to 14.1 million.
During the same period:
- Total number of flights: 87,764
- Total cargo and mail: 351.2 thousand tons
- Load factor: Recorded at 83.4%.
