Boeing’s Starliner capsule has faced another delay in its return to Earth. The two NASA astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS) will have their return date reassessed following two scheduled spacewalks.
Fourth Delay
The return of Boeing’s Starliner capsule, carrying two NASA astronauts, has been postponed for the fourth time. The mission, originally planned to last about eight days, will now extend until at least July 2nd due to this delay.
Return Date to be Reassessed After Spacewalks
The Starliner crew, consisting of Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, arrived at the ISS in early June. They will remain on the station until July 2nd. NASA officials have stated that the capsule’s return date will be evaluated after two planned spacewalks on June 24th and July 2nd.
Successfully Docked
Steve Stich, manager of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program, assured that the delays pose no issues, emphasizing that Starliner is performing well while docked to the ISS.
Launched After Two Delays
Boeing successfully launched the Starliner capsule with two NASA astronauts on June 5th after two previous delays. However, this fourth delay in the return date has resulted in the mission lasting longer than anticipated.
