SunExpress carried 680 thousand passengers during the 2026 Easter period. While the markets of Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the United Kingdom stood out, Antalya became the most preferred destination.
Germany, Austria and Switzerland markets at the top again
SunExpress signalled strong demand by carrying approximately 680 thousand passengers during the Easter holiday period covering 28 March – 12 April 2026. Approximately 420 thousand of the total passenger traffic consisted of passengers travelling from and to German-speaking countries. It once again demonstrated the strategic importance of the Germany, Austria and Switzerland markets for Turkish tourism.
65 thousand passengers on the United Kingdom route
Another market that stood out during the Easter period was the United Kingdom. Approximately 65 thousand passengers preferred SunExpress on flights between Türkiye and the United Kingdom.
Antalya once again in the spotlight
During this period, the vast majority of passengers chose Antalya as their holiday destination. This strong tourism hub of the Mediterranean continues to maintain its attractiveness, especially for passengers from the European market. SunExpress maintained its operational discipline during the peak season with an 85% on-time arrival performance.
CEO Schnabel: “Demand is strong and stable”
SunExpress CEO Marcus Schnabel stated that demand remained strong during the Easter period despite ongoing geopolitical uncertainties globally. Schnabel emphasised that the passenger data obtained shows that Türkiye maintains its position as a reliable and attractive destination.
Network expands in the summer season: Reached 250 destinations
As part of the summer flight schedule starting on 29 March, SunExpress expanded its flight network to 106 destinations in 37 countries and a total of 250 points. Among the newly launched routes, Memmingen–Antalya, Düsseldorf–Hatay, Cologne/Bonn–Trabzon, Adana and Elazığ, as well as Munich and Hannover–Edremit routes stood out.
