Security Alarm on Denizli–Istanbul Flight: Unattended Bag Panic After Passenger Disembarked

A security alarm was issued after a passenger disembarked at the last minute from a Turkish Airlines aircraft scheduled to depart from Denizli to Istanbul. Passengers were kept waiting on the apron due to an unattended black bag found in the cabin.

The incident occurred prior to the scheduled flight from Denizli to Istanbul. While departure preparations were ongoing, one passenger decided not to fly and disembarked from the aircraft.

Following the passenger’s disembarkation, standard aviation security procedures were initiated. Passenger and baggage reconciliation on the aircraft was rechecked.

Passengers were asked to disembark to identify their cabin baggage and were kept waiting on the apron. During the checks, the fact that no one initially claimed a black bag found in the cabin led to brief panic.

Security personnel photographed the unattended baggage and showed the image to the passengers waiting on the apron. As a result of the inspection, it was determined that the bag belonged to a Chinese passenger. After the passenger identified the baggage, the security procedure was completed.

In accordance with aviation regulations, when a passenger disembarks from an aircraft, baggage reconciliation must be carried out again. This practice is conducted as part of standard procedures to prevent potential security risks.

After the owner of the bag initially thought to be unattended was identified, passengers were reboarded. It was learned that the flight was operated as planned following the completion of security checks.
