In the incident that took place in the city of Las Vegas, U.S., an investigation has been launched against 26-year-old Germiran Bryson, who left her dog at the airport after it was denied boarding due to missing paperwork. While the dog was taken under protection, the young woman was detained.
The incident occurred at Harry Reid International Airport in the state of Nevada, U.S. Germiran Bryson, 26, arrived at the airport with her dog during travel procedures.
According to allegations, Bryson tied her two-year-old poodle mix dog, which was denied boarding due to missing documents, to the check-in counter of JetBlue airline and left the terminal. Despite leaving her dog behind, the young woman headed toward the aircraft gate.
Security camera footage showed Bryson walking away from the counter after tying up the dog.
After airport staff noticed the situation, the dog was quickly taken under protection. JetBlue personnel and Las Vegas Retriever Rescue teams took over the care of the dog.
The dog was named “Jet Blue” in reference to the airline employees who took care of it. Authorities announced that numerous adoption applications have been submitted and that the dog is expected to find a new home soon.
It was stated that Bryson’s dog lacked the required travel documents and was therefore not accepted on the flight. Following this, the young woman reportedly tried to continue her journey by leaving the dog in the terminal.
Bryson, who was apprehended at Gate D1, claimed that the dog had a tracking device on it and would return to her. It was reported that she argued with police and resisted during detention. Legal action was initiated against Bryson on charges of “animal abandonment” and “resisting a police officer.”
The incident sparked widespread outrage on social media, with animal rights advocates demanding the harshest penalties for those responsible. Authorities announced that the investigation is ongoing.
