Turkish Airlines (THY), in a disclosure made to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), denied reports claiming that an aircraft in its fleet had been donated to the Republic of Albania. THY announced that the allegations were unfounded and misleading to the public.
“The Aircraft Never Entered THY Ownership”
In the disclosure to KAP, it was stated that reports appearing in various media outlets did not reflect the truth, and it was emphasised that the aircraft in question had never been included in THY’s ownership. The statement noted that the said aircraft was used solely within the scope of service procurement for operational requirements.
For this reason, it was explicitly stated that there is no donation decision by Turkish Airlines in relation to the Republic of Albania.
“All Transactions Are Conducted in Line with the Principle of Transparency”
In its statement, THY also noted that the company demonstrates the highest level of compliance with the Corporate Governance Principles within the framework of the Capital Markets Law and the relevant legislation in force. It was stated that all transactions related to tangible fixed assets are regularly shared with investors in line with the principle of transparency.
The statement concluded by stressing that it was made for the purpose of accurately informing the public, and was respectfully announced to the public.
