On 28 November, an Airworthiness Operator Transmission (AOT) was issued for A320 Family aircraft in service. Airbus has now provided a new update regarding the implementation of these measures across its global fleet.
Majority of the Fleet Completed the Modification
A large portion of the approximately 6,000 potentially affected aircraft has completed the necessary modifications. In cooperation with airline customers, work continues to ensure that fewer than 100 aircraft that have not yet been modified can safely return to service.
Apology and Thanks from Airbus
Airbus conveyed its apologies for any delays and disruptions this situation may cause to passengers and airlines. The company also expressed its gratitude to customers, authorities, employees, and all stakeholders for their support and understanding in implementing these measures. Airbus emphasized how crucial the decision to always prioritise safety has been throughout this process.
