Ercan Airport Serves 3.65 Million Passengers in the First Eight Months of 2025
Record Passenger and Aircraft Traffic at Ercan Airport
Ercan Airport, the gateway of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to the world, served 3,656,122 passengers in the first eight months of 2025. During the same period, 23,995 aircraft movements were recorded. These figures highlight not only the airport’s regional and international significance but also its ability to respond to growing aviation demand.
According to T&T Airport Operations, passenger numbers rose by 19.93% and aircraft movements by 24.29% compared to the same period in 2024.

In the first eight months of 2024, 3,048,615 passengers used Ercan Airport. In the same period of 2025, this figure rose to 3,656,122. The increase demonstrates the airport’s success in managing passenger capacity effectively while meeting international travel demand.
Despite the growth, airport management highlights that service quality has not been compromised. Investments made for passenger comfort and safety are seen as key factors behind the airport’s growing preference among travellers.
24% Rise in Aircraft Movements
Between January and August 2024, Ercan Airport handled 19,305 aircraft movements. In the same period of 2025, the figure increased to 23,995. This growth reflects the airport’s ability to accommodate rising flight demand and showcases the aviation potential of the region.
The increase in aircraft traffic, including both charter and scheduled flights, demonstrates the strengthening of the TRNC’s tourism and business travel infrastructure. Airport officials note that investments in infrastructure and technology will continue to further expand operational capacity.
