As the war between Ukraine and Russia continues, an important statement has come from Kiev. The Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine announced that they have shot down a Russian Su-57 fighter jet for the first time.
In a written statement from the directorate, it was reported that an attack was carried out yesterday on the Ahtubinsk Military Air Base in Russia’s Astrakhan region. The statement noted that the military base is located 589 kilometers from the contact line, and during the attack, a Russian Su-57 fighter jet was hit.
The statement emphasized that the downing of the aircraft was proven with satellite photos. Additionally, it was pointed out that there are only a few of these fighter jets in the inventory of the Russian Air Force, and this marks the first time a Su-57 has been shot down.
