A Jet2 aircraft arriving from Edinburgh to Tenerife South Airport was granted priority landing after reports that a member of the cabin crew had been assaulted during an onboard altercation. The incident occurred earlier today on flight LS739, which was carrying passengers.

According to information shared on the X platform by air traffic control sources, an urgent notification was made reporting that a cabin crew member (TCP) had been assaulted during the flight. As a result, the crew requested medical assistance and police presence upon arrival in Tenerife.

Air Traffic Control: “Approach Distances Reduced”

The air traffic controllers released the following statement:

“An incident occurred on the aircraft arriving from Edinburgh to Tenerife South. The crew are requesting medical assistance and a police presence upon arrival due to an altercation in which a flight attendant was reportedly assaulted. While coordinating with the airport and ground services, we are prioritising the reduction of approach distances as much as possible. Our full support goes to the crew and passengers who have had to endure such unpleasant circumstances.”

Jet2: “Police Called for Disruptive Passenger”

A Jet2 spokesperson made the following statement regarding the incident:

“We can confirm that police were called to offload a disruptive passenger from flight LS739 earlier today.”

The airline stated that all procedures were followed to ensure the safety of the crew during the incident.
