Maintaining its strong position in European air traffic, Istanbul Airport once again stood out as the continent’s busiest airport. According to the latest report by the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL), Istanbul Airport carried out an average of 1,491 daily flights during June 1–7, ranking first across Europe.
Continuing its growth in line with Turkey’s goal to become a global aviation hub, Istanbul Airport surpassed Europe’s leading airports with its international connectivity and high operational capacity.
EUROCONTROL Data Elevates Istanbul to the Top
According to EUROCONTROL’s “European Aviation Report,” Istanbul Airport achieved the title of Europe’s busiest airport with an average of 1,491 daily flights during the analyzed period.
This performance once again highlighted Istanbul Airport’s strategic position in European air transportation.
Surpassing Amsterdam, Paris, and London
Following Istanbul Airport, Amsterdam Schiphol Airport ranked second with an average of 1,402 daily flights.
Next on the list were Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport with 1,382 flights, London Heathrow Airport with 1,314 flights, and Frankfurt Airport with 1,297 flights per day.
Istanbul Airport’s clear lead stands out in the competition among Europe’s largest air transport hubs.
