The Full Flight Simulator (FFS) developed for Turkish Airlines (THY) by HAVELSAN has been awarded the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Level D certification. This achievement establishes HAVELSAN as a leading simulator manufacturer in the Turkish defense industry.
By obtaining the EASA Level D certification for the Airbus A320 Full Flight Simulator developed for THY, the company has taken a significant step forward. This marks HAVELSAN’s third simulator delivery under the contract for a total of 11 A320 CEO/NEO and Boeing 737 Max FFS and FTD for THY and its first EASA Level D certification in 2024.
Mehmet Akif Nacar, General Manager of HAVELSAN, highlighted that the certification demonstrates the ability to provide Turkish-made pilot training equipment to the global airline and pilot training industry. Nacar stated, “We are excited about receiving the EASA certification for the first A320 Full Flight Simulator of 2024. This signifies our joint commitment with Turkish Airlines to meet world standards in simulator training infrastructure.”
HAVELSAN announced plans to enhance its activities and support for airlines and simulator training centers from 2024 onwards. Additionally, with the capability to produce up to 8 full flight simulators annually, the company aims to expand simulator training center operations through flexible methods.
Recently, HAVELSAN announced a collaboration agreement with the International Flight Training Center (IFTC).
