Turkish Airlines (THY) announced that following Azerbaijan’s decision to ban entry into the country for passengers holding Iranian passports, passengers booked on flights departing from or arriving in Baku will be granted the right to free changes, penalty-free refunds, and ticket validity extensions.
Turkish Airlines (THY) has launched a new practice for passengers booked on Baku flights after the decision taken by the Azerbaijan Government regarding the entry of passengers holding Iranian passports into the country.
According to the statement made by THY, within the scope of tickets issued on or before 6 March, some additional rights have been granted to passengers holding Iranian passports who are booked on flights departing from or arriving in Baku between 6 March and 6 April (inclusive).
In the statement, it was noted that if the passengers in question complete their transactions by 31 March (inclusive), they will be able to make reservation changes free of charge. Passengers will also be able to refund their tickets without paying any penalty.
In addition, it was stated that the validity of the tickets can be extended until 6 May (inclusive) without any fare difference or penalty.
In the information provided by THY, it was stated that the application also covers ancillary services, but is only valid for flights operated by Turkish Airlines.
It was also stated that the relevant change and refund transactions can only be carried out through THY sales offices and the call centre.
