The Wings of Change Europe (WoCE) “CEOs on the Spot” panel held in Brussels brought critical issues shaping the future of European aviation to the agenda. Speaking at the panel, Pegasus Airlines CEO Güliz Öztürk shared comprehensive assessments regarding the sustainable growth of the sector.
In her speech, Öztürk stated that the long-term success of the European aviation sector would only be possible through harmonised policies, strong international cooperation and technology-based transformation. Highlighting the complex dynamics of aviation, Öztürk noted the critical importance of strengthening the regulatory framework and ensuring that industry stakeholders act in unison.
“Digitalisation and AI Investments Are Making Our Operations Smarter”
Emphasising that Pegasus Airlines stands out in the sector with its young fleet and efficiency-focused business model, Öztürk also underlined the importance of the company’s digitalisation investments.

In her evaluation during the panel, Öztürk stated that:
- Operational processes are becoming smarter and more efficient through digitalisation and artificial intelligence applications,
- They are rapidly advancing towards their sustainability targets thanks to the low carbon footprint advantage provided by the young fleet,
- Steps taken to support the SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) ecosystem play an important role in Pegasus’ sustainable growth journey.
