Turkish Airlines (THY) announced that 54 flights departing from and arriving at Istanbul Airport have been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions expected to affect Istanbul on Monday, 12 January.
In a statement shared on his social media account, THY Communications Director Yahya Üstün stated that restrictions would be implemented on flight operations at Istanbul Airport in line with a decision taken by the Meteorological Emergency Committee (MADKOM).
Üstün noted that, within the scope of this decision, a total of 54 flights scheduled to depart from and arrive at Istanbul Airport on 12 January had been cancelled, and emphasised that passengers should regularly check their flight information in order to avoid inconvenience.
Officials reminded passengers that the most up-to-date information regarding THY flights can be accessed via Turkish Airlines’ official website and mobile application.
It was stated that additional cancellations may be considered depending on the course of the adverse weather conditions, and passengers were advised to plan their travels accordingly.
