A drone was found near a village in the West Kazakhstan region of Kazakhstan. While authorities are investigating the cause of the incident, it has been reported that similar cases have occurred in the region before.
UAV detected in a non-residential area in Western Kazakhstan
In the West Kazakhstan region of Kazakhstan, near the Akzhayik district, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was found crashed in an empty area outside residential zones.
After the UAV was noticed by local residents, authorities were notified and police teams were dispatched to the scene.
Authorities launch investigation
In a statement by the police, it was noted that investigations into the cause of the UAV’s crash are ongoing.
It has not yet been clarified whether the incident was caused by a technical malfunction, a test activity, or external factors.
Ministry of Defence: detections made within test range boundaries
The Ministry of Defence of Kazakhstan announced that some unmanned aerial vehicles in the West Kazakhstan region were detected within the test range boundaries of the 926th Main Flight Test Centre of the Russian Federation.
It was stated that this situation is being assessed in terms of regional air traffic and security.
Similar incidents have occurred in the region before
It was noted that in the same region, UAV parts or unidentified aerial vehicles have been found on different dates in the past.
Similar findings were reported on 18 February near Uyal village, on 18 March in the Taskala region, on 25 and 26 March in the Zhanibek district, and in October in the Burlin district.
These consecutive incidents have raised the possibility of a more comprehensive investigation into the region’s airspace and potential flight activities.
