Everyone knows that Florida is utterly critical for Allegiant Air. In September, 58% of the point-to-point leisure airline’s flights will touch the Sunshine State. The ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC) will serve 12 airports in the state.
Comparing Allegiant’s schedule in September 2025 with what’s planned for next month shows that 39 new and returning routes will now be available. Most have, of course, already started, and some were previously covered. In contrast, 18 Florida airport pairs have been removed, for a strong net increase of 21 links year-over-year.
The following table summarizes the additions. They involve eight airports in the Sunshine State. Nearly half of the entries (18) are from Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). SFB is, of course, the lower-cost and less congested alternative to Orlando International Airport (MCO). Allegiant has more flights from SFB than any other airport across the ULCC’s total network.
All but one of the entries are interstate. The sole exception is SFB to Key West, which covers 254 nautical miles (470 km) each way. Allegiant began this route amid the COVID-19 pandemic in June 2021. Cirium data shows that flights operated for 11 months in 2025, but not in September. That’s why it is included below. Remember: the article is based on comparing the ULCC’s network year-over-year. September service also did not exist in 2023 or 2024. As such, the availability in 2026 is notable.
Routes That Did Not Operate In September 2025 But Which Will Do So In September 2026*
Columbia (MO), Denver, Oklahoma City, Peoria, Wichita
Albany, Allentown, Appleton, Atlantic City, Fort Wayne, Grand Rapids, Greenville/Spartanburg, Plattsburgh, Trenton
Albany, Atlantic City, Columbia (MO), Huntsville, Key West, La Crosse, Little Rock, Omaha, Toledo
* Some entries had flights in multiple months in 2025 but not in September. That’s why they’ll still listed
Most of the nine additional links from the South Florida airport were previously part of Allegiant’s network. Some were also served for most of last year but did not have flights in September or returned after a long absence.
Brand-new links on Allegiant’s map include FLL to Atlantic City International Airport (ACY), which welcomed the ULCC in December 2025, and Albany and Trenton, whose flights launched in February 2026. Those to Fort Wayne took off in November 2025, having last existed in 2008.
Allegiant plans 20 routes from FLL in September. 221 departures are scheduled, up from 146 in the same month last year. 51% more services are available, which means FLL is now Allegiant’s seventh most-served airport across its full network, up from 11th last September. Only one of the nine routes (ACY) was previously part of the now-defunct Spirit Airlines’ network. However, Spirit also flew to Newark and Philadelphia, not far from Trenton, until mid-2026.
221 departures means an average of seven outbound services each day. Given the airline’s activity is renowned for varying enormously depending on the specific day of the week, this is not enormously helpful. Departures will vary from as few as zero (!) on particular Tuesdays (some Tuesdays will have one service) to as many as 14 to 15 on the significantly more popular Mondays and Fridays.

The ULCC will serve 113 airports in September. 12 will be in Florida and 101 outside the Sunshine State. While 89% of facilities will not be in Florida, 58% of the flights will be. Two routes are available within the state, along with 193 links from there to other places in the country.
SFB remains by far Allegiant’s leading airport. 49 routes are available in the examined month, up from 41 last September. While nine routes have joined its network, Columbia (SC) is no longer served (the final flight was in April 2026). In total, a record 578 departures are available from SFB, smashing the prior high, which was set last year, by 8%. Daily activity varies from one departure to as many as 35.
