As part of the 17th International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF 2025), ROKETSAN has publicly unveiled GÖKBORA for the first time — a new air-to-air missile designed to make a strategic contribution to national air defence capabilities.
GÖKBORA, classified as a Beyond Visual Range Air-to-Air Missile (BVRAAM), has been specifically developed for the National Combat Aircraft KAAN and the unmanned fighter jet Bayraktar KIZILELMA. Its standout feature is its solid-fuel RAMJET propulsion system, which allows it to be housed in internal weapon bays — reducing radar cross-section and enhancing stealth.

ROKETSAN General Manager Murat İkinci made the following statement during GÖKBORA’s presentation:
“With a range exceeding 100 nautical miles, GÖKBORA is a superior missile capable of engaging beyond-visual-range targets. It has been specially designed to be launched from the internal weapon bays of KAAN and KIZILELMA. Thanks to its RAMJET engine, it delivers much higher speed and effectiveness than its competitors.”
Key Difference from GÖKHAN:
Unlike the GÖKHAN missile — developed by TÜBİTAK-SAGE and intended for use on external hardpoints of F-16s and similar aircraft — GÖKBORA is designed to be integrated into internal weapon bays, offering greater stealth and operational flexibility.
