A striking new practice for passengers on domestic flights has been launched in Russia. Through a collaboration between Rosgosstrakh and Pobeda Airlines, passengers can take out home insurance inside the aircraft just before take-off.
“Boarded the plane, bought the policy” era begins
According to a statement by Rosgosstrakh, under the new service passengers can easily purchase a home insurance policy while onboard the aircraft. Moreover, a special 15% discount is applied during this process.
Sergey Bayko, Head of Offline Marketing and Brand Development at Rosgosstrakh, made the following remarks regarding the initiative:
“Many people have, at least once, worried about the safety of their home while travelling. Together with Pobeda, we wanted to remind passengers that they can reduce this concern by transferring residential security to an insurance company. Thanks to home insurance, financial protection will be provided in the event of an adverse situation.”
Comprehensive home protection
The home insurance policy offered onboard the aircraft covers the most common household risks, including:
- Flooding and fire,
- Theft,
- Damage caused to neighbours,
Renovation works, furniture, technical equipment and personal belongings.
The insurance process can be completed in just a few minutes, and passengers do not need to carry out any additional procedures before their flight.
To be implemented on the busiest routes
Aircraft referred to as “home-insured” will operate on Russia’s busiest domestic routes, including Moscow, Sochi, Saint Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Kazan, Novosibirsk and other popular destinations.
